January Fast

My wife, Andrea, and I start each year with a 21-day personal fast. This year, I gave up / did the following:

  • No alcohol

  • No sweets

  • No fried food

  • Read a passage of John each day

  • Read before bed

    • I was about 70% effective on this one

Although Andrea & I select different things to focus on, it’s so meaningful to go through the fast together. I realized about 15 days into the fast that I felt better than I had in months, even after being sick and not exercising regularly.

We wrapped up the fast this week and I plan on revisiting various versions of fasts throughout the year. Please share if there are any fasts you recommend!
